These changes have come on the tail end of my main big change, decision that came about on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The awesome question was popped to Jessica Kendall. “Will you Marry me?”…

It was truly a moment of amazing and perfect love showing itself in a simple and beautiful single moment.  I could not have asked for better weather or location (Knights Ferry).

Well, she of course said yes, otherwise I would not be writing this post. lol

I have somewhat realized what power this decision has in being a driving force behind changes, which deal mainly in the mental category.

I have found a true soul mate, best friend, and lovely life companion in Jessica. She completes me in ways that I have not realized I even needed completion, up until I met this woman that is perfect for me in every way.

Her personality and spirit compliments mine in such a way that I can not even imagine being without her, and that even has even become so important that I can truly say I need her and want her in my life, for the rest of my life.

I have been through a lot of really hard rough patches in the past three years.

I really don’t share that much of my personal struggles through the last few years very often, but I promise to share more on these stories and times later on. Those are stories for a different kind of post.

Regarding all of the above spoken struggles and hardships, Jessica has come to be the healing balm and companion that creates in me a strength to get through the lingering hardships and the still coming hardships that are upcoming in life, that we all at must sometime come to face. Her strength and ability to know just where I am in life, and to have this full understanding of me, is irreplaceable. Her ability to deal with what I know are not the easiest things to deal with, have made me realize that God has blessed me with a gift of companionship that to myself feels equal to the perfect found in the relationship shared by the first couples that God placed on this earth, Adam and Eve.

Realizing someone is the matching puzzle piece to myself brings about such an amazing sensation and feeling, you cant help but marvel at the Grace of God and his providence in giving us what we need, and even in this case, what I deeply desired for.

The biggest changes have been that I can now realize an even more solid and true purpose in life that was so hard in many different ways to find before.

Her plus is to my minus. Her orange juice, to my Cranberry.

Previous statement, Corny, yes, but I find a humorous value to those statements. To those of you who know me personally, you will be able to appreciate and understand those two comparisons.

Right now I can truly say that I really have a special happiness in life that I can never compare anything in the past to.

I have so many things to ponder and to appreciate in the next upcoming weeks and years.

Leaving in a bit to go get my rental car figured out for the trip to L.A. Tomorrow, for a video shoot. I will be bringing my brother down with me, along with our good friend Brenn.

things have been rather hectic lately, and I have been trying to decide whether to pursue design, or try and get another job doing whatever else is available.

Simply put, there really are no excuses for the decision. I can only say that I quite honestly didn’t possess the desire enough to go through with it. I continually found excuses to get Me to not do it.

I find the most troublesome ailments that I get from not smoking seem to be the physical ones. I really have no other troubles… Well, I must say that the mental challenge when paired with the physical is a most difficult one in all honesty.

Well, I failed… Miserably. By the time 5:00p rolled around, I had taken the steps to procuring a pack. It felt even worse when I did light up, and I almost just wanted to start crying with the disapointment I felt as I sucked on that cigarette. I then made up my mind (Excuses Excuses) that I would wait until Monday, because then I would be in the office, and not around all these others smokers and stress… Well, Monday I was out of town, camping at a local reservoir. I then decided again (Excuse) to make it Tuesday (Today), My logic again being that I was removed from society at least in some small way and would experience less of a temptation to smoke because of the fact that I work alone and for myself, so I would not have anyone around asking or wanting a smoke break with me.

Well, Tuesday is here. I made the step of taking ONE cigarette with me (FAIL) and saving it my drawer for a “Just in Case” scenario. Well, about 2:30 or so, I was so grumpy and angry at nothing, that I let myself have a little itty bitty tiny bit of it… (FAIL) and nothing more.

Well… I can now say I have finished that one cigarette (It has been some time too… I finished @ 3:55p) and now I am starting to get the shakes and the little glimmers of anxiety and stress that nicotine withdrawals create in me.
I swear, that quitting this is harder than anything I have ever quit before.
I want to stay strong… I want no more excuses or fails, and I want so desperately to be SMOKE FREE! I need some encouragement I think… Because by myself its getting rather lonely. Well, I want to post more, but even writing about quitting is making me want one ever more.

Damn things.

I feel like my mind is all over the place right now!

I went to this show with some trepidation, having never really attended a rock show of any sort. I barely knew anything about the upcoming lineup, but was excited just to see some live bands playing for once, as it had been quite awhile since I had seen ANY kind of live band.

Well, when I reached the venue, I was greeted with music already floating out the doors and making its way out into the street, where it echoed against the parking complex. I quickly informed the beefy, ponytailed security guard at the door that I was on the Rock 96.7 list of guests. He spent some time flipping through several pieces of paper containging what looked to be lists of names, found my name, and ushered me through.

Blasting guitar riffs and pounding kick drums greeted my ears in full volume. The thumping was almost deafening, but had a certain energy to it that I instantly found to my liking. I didn’t know the band that was playing, but noticed on the projection screen above them the name “Sleepnoise“. I was impressed right away with the vocal talent of the band, and I proceeded to make my way to the bar, then grabbing a drink and  leaning bank up against it, taking in the music.

To my right against the bar was the well known Bueller, one of the lead DJ’s for Rock 96.7. I had never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, but we had been friends on Twitter for some time, and the tickets were all in thanks to him hooking me up. I proceeded to greet him and introduce myself and Jessica, who was my date for the night. To be honest, hearing his voice in person was rather odd at first, because of the fact for the last year I have heard it blasting through my radio.

After introductions, I proceeded to enjoy my cold Vodka & Tonic, and take in the music. The crowd was small, as the show had really just begun. I surveyed the group of people sitting and standing, most of them strangers to me, with a few different familiar faces thrown in.

As the night went on, there were a succession of good rock talent that I was pleasantly surprised by. The crowd thickened, adding even more energy to the sets. After downing a few drinks, and spending some more time talking with Bueller and listening to the music, we finally reached the headliners, Since October.  At this time, I had no idea these guys are actually a Christian Band, signed with a well known Christian Record label. (Tooth & Nail)

Well, they proceeded to tear up the stage! I was pumped and couldn’t just sit, so we made our way up to the front area of the floor next to the stage. The stage energy was palpable, and I felt like I could really feel the energy flowing forth from the members on stage. The music was loud, good and the vocals were just phenomenal. I really could not have asked for a better time.  The songs, while instrumentally above and beyond what you typically see here in Modesto, was also set apart just by the obvious experience level of the band, and the ability to sync together and really give the fans a show worth seeing. I very much recommend seeing them live, whenever you have a chance. Or even just give their music a listen. (Just google them)
